I was compelled to translate this moment in time captured traveling on a rural road in the villages of Pakistan. This nomad woman’s gaze is piercing yet captivating, silently speaking of burdens untold. Using colored pencils, I was able to capture details and nuances from the folds of her dress to the fog that shrouds her in secrecy like her veil.
